ANNUAL MEETING 2020

The GCF Task Force will host its 12th Annual Meeting in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, from May 5th to 7th, 2021. Co-hosted by the Government of Amazonas, the meeting will provide an invaluable opportunity to advance our common goals of protecting tropical forests, reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and promoting sustainable, low-emissions development. Meeting participants will include governors, civil society, indigenous peoples and local community representatives, the private sector, and others who will connect and collaborate on joint initiatives to protect our planet and its people.

ABOUT AMAZONAS

With approximately thirty thousand species of plants and more than 4,200 species of animals, the Amazon Forest is the largest reservoir of biodiversity on the planet. In the state of Amazonas, 97% of the forest’s original coverage has been preserved.
